Tuckers

Tuckers are the name of the square box made of plastic, commonly called record crates. Made by Tucker Industries specifically for the purpose of record storage, these elusive geometric plastic cubes are harder to find than a runway model at Cracker Barrel. The ones that we have are all filled, with records, to be sorted. I need more of them, and I need to get started sorting. There are 48 filled crates of unknown lp's, including gems and dregs, all pulled from the larger 17,000 record collection.

Recently I've had to pack my own record collection, which will always tell you about how much crap you have acquired. Multiple copies of Dio, Sabbath, Zep, Doors, Costello, Floyd, Maiden were pulled on the first run. Instead of having five or more copies of some titles at home, i now have Zero. There were too many doubles and triples among the soul, too. idris muhammed, donald byrd, billy cobham, escorts, jimmy smith and the rest were thinned out and most of the jazz was dismissed especially from anything on labels like ecm. sometimes you have to draw the line. i have maybe 4,500 at home, tops. that's probably 2,500 too many.
