Post-Punk Halcyon

Well, I finally did it.

I got the cd burner, a Nexxtech at Circuit city. it does the trick, copies from LP to cd or from minidisc to Lp. I copied a few minidiscs already, including the Round Robin Monopoly/ Granicus, the Counts/O'Donel Levy, and a few poorly constructed 80's mixes.

Tonight was my first experiment with transferring straight from wax. The first try was the Bongos ep for Numbers, which i wanted to add to the end of the aforementioned minidisc, but i quickly found out that you can add, but you cannot subtract from a burned disc. So when i missed the last fifteen or twenty seconds of the song on the Bongos ep, i wanted to re-record, which means i had to basically throw out the original recording. Phooey.

I am right now in the midst of a great taping, however. I just finished the full-length of The Passage "Pindrop" and now into an amazing recording by John Ruth called "I Am A Model" on 22 Records, 1981. It is a STRONG candidate for electro post punk favorite of the month, possibly the year. It is very Gary Numan styled, circa Pleasure Principle, with repetitive dark lyrics and cool resonating sounds and plucked guitar lines. A True Winner. "I Am A Model" is a great song on the end of side 1.
